- This is a Reflection paper and I have uploaded a sample of the assignment from another student from the last year to know how to write it, but the most important thing is to follow the same paper structure bellow in the second page when you write the paper.
- I have summarized the things that I have done with my group during the class in the Everest Simulation Run to understand the Simulation as it should be mentioned in the reflective review assignment (I was the photographer in Everest simulation).
- Create Scenarios that happened in the Everest simulation and in class from your mind, be creative, and apply many different theories from the attached 2 slides files.
- Apply the 3 leadership theories in the paper (Traits Theory, Skills Theory, Behaviours Theory) and other theories in the slides if you can inside the paper.
- Write the types of leaders you have seen in class and life for example (Servant; Directive; Delegating; Transformational; Country Club) (Explained in the slides to understand them).

Paper Structure:-
- Introduction [c100 words]
Give a brief synopsis of what your review covers including key arguments made.
- Background [c300 words]
Using relevant academic theory drawn from the course, briefly narrate and explain BOTH:
- A leader you directly observed prior to undertaking the course, what type of leader they were, and what they did well or poorly as leaders in terms of outcomes and effects on followers; AND
- A leadership role you had prior to the course (no matter how big or small), what type of leader you were, and what you did well or where you struggled.
- Reflections on my experience of leadership during the Everest simulations [c1300 words]
Using relevant academic theory drawn from the course, and the concepts/models associated with such theory, analyse and critically evaluate the leadership and followership you encountered during the Everest simulations. In so doing cover ALL of the following:
- The cultures and personalities that made up your Everest group.
- The type of leadership and followership you encountered.
- What was “good” and/or “bad” about the leadership and followership you observed and enacted, connecting as relevant to the context and the cultures/personalities you have already drawn out.
- What, if anything, is missing, incomplete or inadequate about the theory you have used and how that might be resolved.
- Development plan [c500 words]
Using relevant academic theory drawn from the course, and informed by your reflections above, give an overview of the things you want to do develop your leadership. Cover ALL of the following:
- Type: What type of leader do you want to be and why?
- Development: What do you need to develop or improve to achieve that?
- Actions: What will you do to so develop or improve: include the “how” and “when” (actions and timescales).
- Feedback: How will you know if you so developed or improved?
- REFERENCE LIST [not included in the word count]
Insert a list of references used following the University of Aberdeen approved “Harvard” referencing method.
