For this module, you will work on three distinct assessment sections that are submitted together as a portfolio at the end of Week 8:
- Section One: Research proposal (40%)
- Section Two: Data interpretation and reporting (30%)
- Section Three: Decision making in research methods and statistics (30%)

The entire portfolio is worth 100% of your module grade and you cannot pass on one or two components, all three must be submitted.
Each week throughout the module, you will cover content relevant to one or more of the assessment components. We recommend that you work consistently through each of the weeks so that you do not miss vital content related to the assessment.
Task
Detailed instructions on your portfolio can be found in the 7PS032 Portfolio Assignment Download 7PS032 Portfolio Assignmentdocument.

Guidelines
It is essential that you ensure all components are uploaded as Word or PDF documents at the end of Week 8. You can download Microsoft Office software for free from the University website. Submitting the work in any other format runs the risk of it not being marked.
Word Count
For this assignment you do have the usual 10% leeway on word count. However, please note that this applies to each section. Total word count is 2500 words for the whole assessment, but section one is +/- 10% (additional/minus 135 words), as are the other two sections. You may not apply the entire 10% to a single section.
Referencing:
You must apply APA7 referencing to all of your work and provide a separate reference list at the end of each component. For further information on APA referencing, please visit the APA webpagesLinks to an external site..
Extensions and Mitigation
If you require a seven-day extension or are seeking to mitigate your submission to the next opportunity, you must submit an application via e:Vision. Please note that neither online facilitators nor the wider academic team are authorised to grant extensions or mitigation: these are handled centrally by the University. Unless you are using one of your self-certified extension opportunities, you will be required to upload evidence with your application. It is useful to have this to hand digitally when completing the application. More information about this can be found here: Fit to Sit Procedures.
Uploading to Assessment Portal
When you upload your work, please add to the front of the proposal (section one) a statement as to how many modules you have already completed on this degree.
If you have completed six or more modules with us, please also include a statement as to whether you would like to follow the proposal through for your dissertation.
Please do not try to upload individual components before the deadline – you will need to upload all of them at the same time, otherwise you risk overwriting a previous submission.
Grading
The entire portfolio is worth 100% of your module grade.
