Part B: Answer Questions
For the task, review the Learner Analysis packets for Ana. Imagine you are going to be teaching Ana in a classroom setting. We have conducted the needs analysis and diagnostic assessments you will need to help design the course you will be teaching Ana. You will critically evaluate her responses through a series of targeted questions. Be sure to address all parts of the prompts and cite accordingly.
- Analyze Ana’s Needs Analysis and answer the following questions. Explain 2 areas where you would follow up with your selected learner for more information about their needs that is not provided in the responses. Write between 50-200 words.
- Review her reading test. Take note of her performance on these tests. Using the CEFR Self-Assessment descriptors, explain what level reading you believe is best suited for using in a class setting with Ana. Reference the learner’s assessment and the CEFR self-assessment descriptions to support your answer. (100-300 words)
- Review the listening test for Ana. Review her needs analysis responses with regards to her listening goals. Describe one topic or content theme that you would use when working with Ana to improve her listening skills. Explain why you chose that topic. (100-200 words)
- Analyze the results of Ana’s Speaking & Writing tests. Using the four diagnostic assessment results, assign a CEFR level to Ana. Use the the CEFR Global Scale. Support your level assignment with evidence from her diagnostic tests and the descriptors. (100-200 words)
- Review the 3 textbooks below and select the most suitable textbook for Ana, her goals in learning English, and her diagnostic results. Explain why you picked the selected book. Use the sample textbook evaluation checklist to support your rationale. (100-300 words)
