The GQR’s should not be summaries of course readings, but an analysis, critique, and engagement with course readings. GQR’s must be submitted electronically via Canvas/Bruinlearn on the day that they are due. Please note that late assignments will have points deducted.

ScoreDescription8-10

  • Brief synthesis of the material discussed (did you answer the guided question?)Discussion of your connection to, and/or practical application of the material (how does this relate to real life/what’s really happening with leadership, sport and diversity?)Inclusion of one critical question regarding the material discussed. In your opinion, what questions were left unanswered by the authors? What are you left pondering? This question is ‘critical’ because you are challenging what was discussed in the readings, by pushing for ‘socially just’ methods of leadership in sports . You may use one or more of the readings to develop your question. Don’t just pose the question, grapple with in it your response. The paper is clearly written (e.g. grammar, sentence structure, etc)

  • 6-7The student may have covered all 4 elements of analysis, yet failed to discuss the topics in depth. The paper is merely a surface level discussion of the themes. The paper may contain few grammatical errors.1-5Failure to include one or more of the 4 elements of analysis and/or failure to include one or more of the readings. The paper may contain several grammatical errors.
