Music and art in general are barely created from scratch. It is mainly created following different types of inspirations. Inspirations could range from traumatic experiences, happy experiences, or even other pieces of art. This is the reason why artists referrer to a range of things as their muse. My muse was the song ‘Hymn for the Weekend by Cold play featuring Beyonce” The son’s main theme is the power of working together. In the different verses, they show how working in a symphony is key in attaining big things in life. It also shows how people can be angelic guides for one another. They thus can help each other in attaining great things. Great things in this song are referred to as ‘shooting across the sky’ (Coldplay, 2016). Beyonce and Chris Martin also join in together in the chorus which creates a beautiful chorus and also brings out the aspect of a symphony. The short piece I came up with was greatly inspired by the song ‘Hymn for the Weekend.’ The thematic focus of my piece is how human beings are created to depend on each other. From the most basic thing like happiness to the most complex things, as referred to by the song “shooting across the sky,” human cooperation is vital. Not only is working together important but regarding each other with compassion (Coldplay, 2016). That includes looking out for each other. This is the main reference of being ‘angelic beings.’ My piece could not be compared to the masterpiece ‘Hymn for the Weekend’. The song is written with prowess and beautifully sung by the two musicians. However, their thematic message is comparable to my theme. Human co-dependency and how they can work in synergy to achieve great things. References Coldplay. (2016, January 29). Coldplay - Hymn for the weekend (Official video) [Video].
