Part of management and leadership is constantly assessing for areas of improvement. When introducing change to staff or administration, it should have a purpose and a clear goal and involve stakeholders. The plan of action should contain as much information as possible to achieve an understanding of the need for change. The objective of the project is to gather, analyze, interpret, and present data in an organized and professional manner.
Step 1: Students will collaborate with faculty to choose a specific change topic. Your change proposal must be approved by your instructor and include evidence-based practice support. Some examples of change proposals are bedside reporting, new admissions processes (resources developed), strategies to decrease falls, CAUTIs, CLABSIs, etc.

Step 2: When the topic is decided, you will begin to work on your change proposal PowerPoint presentation. The final presentation requires both audio and video, so you must upload the PPT presentation as well.
Step 3: Some assignments may relate to your change proposal. For this assignment, you will be required to present graphs, financial impact, and more. See the rubric below.
Step 4: Your final presentation is due the final week of the course. Remember that there will be minimal time for resubmission, so make sure your submission aligns with the rubric.
** Note that this presentation will require a minimum of 12 articles/reputable site submissions and statistical data research. It is essential to choose a topic that can be supported through EBP. Your presentation is worth 25% of your total grade in the course.
You work toward your change proposal all semester. You will submit one final presentation, which must include both audio and video.
Note: Your presentation will provide insight into the organization and the need for workplace change. You will describe your organization’s structure and discuss the change process and planning. The focus will be on developing and delivering your change proposal to the audience. Although the change is in theory, all the steps in the planning will be discussed as if it were implemented in your work area. Your graphs and grids will be developed to represent your proposal, and all phases will be discussed step by step. The tone of the presentation should be persuasive and convincing through the use of evidence-based practice (EBP) and the strategic planning process. Be sure to follow the concepts and definitions provided in your textbook. All references must be cited at least once in your presentation. Audio and Video are required for the presentation slides. Provide a solid background and demonstrate an understanding of concepts and organization structure. Make your presentation engaging and provide charts/graphs as needed and required. Most graphs should be similar to the textbook’s examples. Do not forget to provide a background on your role in the unit/organization. You have been provided with a rubric for the required content.
