Assignment: Chapter 14 Scheduling Measures

Cartoon image of a man on a pendulum depicting the balance needed for scheduling. The left side of the board has a clock. The right side has a stack of money.

Scheduling decisions allocate available capacity or resources to jobs, activities, tasks or customers. Productive employees are essential in delivering value to the customer. Productive employees lower the costs of operations and ensure satisfied customers when supported by management and appropriate technology and systems. Employee retention and low employee turnover also drive productivity and customer value. For anyone who has ever been responsible for developing an employee schedule, the task can be daunting and very time-consuming. Advances in software have automated many previous tasks associated with scheduling as well as software developments now provide 24/7 access to schedules.
