Overview

Observing the religious rituals and worship services of people of other faiths than Christianity is an extremely important way to understand the beliefs and practices of others. By means of your observation of a worship service of a major world religion, you will gain a greater understanding and a new appreciation of the teachings, doctrines, and religious practices of the people who are adherents of the major world religions, which in turn will aid you in reaching them with the Gospel.

Instructions

To ensure success for this assignment, you will select a major world religion, visit a worship service of the selected religion, and write a paper about your experience. Based on your research of the religion and your observations of the worship service, you will also describe the service, the religion and its teachings, contrasting and comparing it with Christianity, and providing how you would share Christ with a follower of the religion you selected for this assignment. (Other religions besides the major world religions may be selected for this assignment with the Instructor’s permission.)

Based upon your observations of the worship service and your research of the selected world religion you selected for this assignment, you will prepare your paper using 1,200 words and include the following:

A title page
A table of contents
An introduction
Footnotes in current Turabian formatting
A brief description of the religion based on your use of academic research
A report of the worship service you observed and your research discoveries
A brief summary on how you would share Christ with a follower of the selected religion
A conclusion
A bibliography with at least 5 scholarly sources
