LCA Report Structuring Guidelines

  1. Title page ( please see the title page uploaded in Moodle)
  2. Summary or abstract with keywords ( not more than half A4 page)
  3. Table of contents- should contain a complete list with page numbers what the report contains
  4. List of figures/tables, abbreviations
  5. Section 1 – Introduction and Phase-1: Goal and Scope definition
  6. Section 2 – Phase 2: Inventory Analysis according
  7. Section 3 – Phase 3: Impact Assessment
  8. Section 4 – Phase 4: Interpretation
  9. Overall Conclusion of the report 10.Reference list

  2. The report must be written in good Standard English. It must be typed with 1.5 line spacing 12 Font size Arial or Times New Roman. Use margins of 2.5cm top/bottom/right/left. Clearly drawn Figures (Graphs, diagrams, flow charts and photographs) can be included in the text.
  3. The Figures and Tables must be numbered and have meaningful captions (Titles). Figure numbers and captions should be placed underneath the figures while table numbers captions should be placed on top of the tables.
  4. All pages starting from ‘Introduction’ section should be consecutively numbered in the centre/side of the bottom margin. The pages preceding the ‘Introduction’ should be numbered in Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, iv). The page numbering in title page should be hidden.
  5. Use title page provided in Moodle.
  6. The length of the report should be limited to 2000 words. In extreme case +/- 10% allowance can be considered. The word limit only includes from the contents from introduction to conclusion sections and the rest of the sections such as title page,

  1. The report should be clear, concise and as short as possible, consistent with presenting all relevant information.
  2. Students are allowed to structure heading and sub-headings as required for their report.
