| Class-This week you will be working on your Assignment 1 (Windshield Survey) in VoiceThread as well as your first IHI case study.As I have mentioned several times regarding due dates in this course, please do not wait until the due date to start your VT. It will be impossible to do and given that there is no DQ due this week, there is no reason that it should not be done on time (Tuesday at 2359 EST). You also have a component due next Monday as well so please read the instructions for the assignment carefully.When you read the assignment and rubric, you will see that one part of this VT assignment is that you have to conduct 3 interviews with people who hold positions within your community. You are putting this presentation together from the perspective of the PCHN (Primary Health Care Nursing). Keep that in mind when putting this together and when interviewing the 3 community members. You will need to have their names and occupation listed in your references in the VT if you are not incorporating video interviews into your VT or discussing it in your narrative.If you are not familiar with VT, there are resources on the course home page.The point of this first assignment is to conduct a community assessment from the perspective of the PCHN. The questions in the assignment are meant to guide what you are looking for when you are out conducting this windshield survey. Your work this week will lead you to the assignment next week so look ahead and plan on a VT that is fluid and will make your work next week easier for you to do.Your IHI case study is part of the practicum requirements and must be completed in order to fulfil the requirements of the practicum component. This is due no later than this Friday night at 2359 EST. The resource page for your practicum component is on the course home page and the information for your case studies is there as well. You have one this week and one next week as well. They are flexible so you may submit any time before the due date in their respective weeks. Please make sure that your case study has all components in order to receive full points. This includes a summary of the case study, setting the assignment up per the directions and meeting paragraph criteria.Lastly, please pay attention to the feedback that I provide with your DQ posts and in your assignments. I give the feedback to help you become better critical thinkers and better at academic writing. If you find that I have given APA feedback and you are still not earning all of your APA points (for example), you may want to re-read the feedback so that you can correct that mistake. The writing tutor is also available for written work feedback. Please see his post in the opening week’s announcements. Reading directions fully for assignments and DQ’s is also important. The assignments contain the directions and the rubrics tell you what you will be graded on.
