Directions:
In Part 1 of Assignment 1 in Week 3, you proposed an idea for a Change Project and received approval to continue with the project in more detail. Part 2 is the continuation of the Change Project, up to the point of implementation. This part of the assignment expands on the Week 3 Assignment. This week, the details of your Change Project are presented in a paper. You may use the content from Part 1 and add in the details to expound on the project.
In part 2 of the Change Project Assignment, in addition to the content from Part 1, you will discuss an analysis of need for this change, including any attempts that have been made in the past to alleviate the problem. You should discuss why the attempts failed and any plans the agency may have for addressing the need or problem. This discussion is further expansion of the information presented in Part 1.
Use the information from Part 1 and give detail on how critical thinking was used to approach the needed change. Include all details, from beginning to implementation. There should be stated goals, objectives that are measurable, and specific steps to reach the goal. Here, in Part 2, you will now include a brief discussion of all materials needed for your Change Project. These can range from door prizes, lunches, art materials, to salaries for needed help.
A timeline is also required to show how long it will take for your project to be completed. This should begin from the point the idea is conceived, include necessary meetings, preparation of teaching materials or art materials, and staff training or education. The project does not have to be implemented, but should the unit manager or agency decide to implement you Change Project, you should have a finished plan ready to present.
In Part 2, you will also validate your idea with an explanation of a management theory used in this Project and how it applies to your Change Project. A Literature Review will be included, based on your experience with Literature Reviews in NURS 302, showing evidence from research or peer reviewed articles that will support the success of your Change Project. The literature review must contain a minimum of two articles reviewed and discussed.
In narrative form, discuss each expense that will be required to effectively implement your Change Project. You briefly discussed this in Part 1, but now you should go into more detail. Identify all materials needed, salaries impacted, and any other expenses likely incurred. You may list in bullet form in the narrative, if desired. There should be a final total of all expenses discussed.
In your conclusion, you should sum up the general idea and make a statement of what might happen if your Change Project is not implemented.
Follow the Grading Rubric for specific topics that must be discussed, along with corresponding point value. Remember that this is a narrative paper, which means that you may list items, but they must be done correctly according to APA guidelines. The listed items must be included in a paragraph that explains what the listed items are.
