Based on these observations and the discussions over the past few weeks, what recommendations would you specifically make to Government Officials or Organization Leaders to improve the community or practice setting?

According to Jack (2021), to improve the community or practice setting, Government Officials or Organization Leaders could consider implementing several recommendations. Firstly, increase access to healthcare services by expanding the number of healthcare facilities in underserved areas. Secondly, promote health equity by ensuring that all individuals have access to quality healthcare regardless of their socioeconomic status or background. Lastly, foster community engagement and participation by involving residents in decision-making processes and building partnerships with local stakeholders.

In addition, you can address social determinants of health by collaborating with community organizations to provide resources such as affordable housing, healthy food options, and education programs. As well as Implement evidence-based public health interventions to prevent and control diseases such as vaccination initiatives and smoking cessation programs (Keeling, 2017).

What do you see that your facility could put into action to improve the care it delivers? (This should be apart from your project aim if you are completing it in your area of employment.)

According to Al-Otaibi et al. (2019), to improve HAPI incidence and the care delivered at the facility, several actions could be taken. For one, implement standardized protocols for skin assessments and pressure ulcer prevention. In addition, provide ongoing staff education and training on proper positioning techniques, skin care practices, and pressure ulcer staging. Furthermore, utilize technology such as electronic health records and pressure mapping devices to track skin integrity and identify high-risk patients. Lastly, developing individualized care plans for patients at risk for HAPIs and conduct regular audits and quality improvement initiatives to monitor HAPI rates and identify areas for improvement (Al-Otaibi et al., 2019).

What is your opinion regarding who is responsible to make our communities healthier?

In my opinion, regarding who is responsible for making our communities healthier, it is a shared responsibility among individuals, communities, healthcare providers, government officials, and organization leaders. Individuals play a role in maintaining their own health through healthy lifestyle choices and preventive behaviors. Communities can support health by creating safe environments, promoting access to healthcare services, and addressing social determinants of health. Healthcare providers are responsible for delivering high-quality care and promoting health education. Government officials are tasked with creating and enforcing policies that improve population health outcomes, while organization leaders can implement health-promoting practices within their respective settings. Ultimately, collaboration among all stakeholders is necessary to create a healthier community (Keeling, 2017).
